SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY
Reaching Down has partnered with many organizations who also have a heart for the community. Mission Solano, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Children's Nurturing Project, Public City Education Programs, Neighborhood Hope Dealers, The Vacaville Reporter and many more.
We know that for them to succeed they need support from organizations like us.
Over the past 3 years we have partnered with these organizations in providing a platform for their events. At many of these events we set up the stage, provide the audio and sometimes video as well as on occasion set up lighting.
We are often the Emcee and most times perform keeping their participants entertained.
Spring time brings great weather and a great time to help the Vacaville Public Education Foundation (VPEF). This is the annual run for education to help raise much needed funds for our public schools.
In summer time we heat things up with the Out of the Darkness walk helping to raise money for suicide awareness and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). For 3 years running we have partnered with AFSP helping them to raise thousands of dollars to fund their nationwide program by Emceeing and entertaining walkers .
As Fall comes around we don't slow down one bit, in fact, we are gearing up for our busiest time of the year. We start off with the Solano Hearts United Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning with thousands of runners/walkers who together raise money for multiple organizations. Solano Hearts United, Suisun Kroc Center, Meals on Wheels and Mission Solano. We follow that up with entertaining the dinner guests at the annual Mission Solano Thanksgiving Dinner.
In December we jump right into Christmas by kicking off the season with the Downtown Vacaville tree lighting ceremony, Merriment on Main hosted by The Vacaville Reporter. This is our biggest event of the year, with an estimated 15,000 people in attendance we host youth groups on our stage who have worked on song and dance to entertain the crowd. The evening ends with a Christmas performance from the band 5 O'clock Somewhere keeping the crowd rockin' and singing until the end of the night.
Oh but we still aren't done! We have one more annual event, Mission Solano's Christmas Eve Toy Giveaway and Feast. This is a wonderful time to show the true meaning of Christmas to so many who are in need. With dancers, singers and inspirational speeches we get to bring smiles to the faces of the ones who need it the most in our community.
Won't you please join us this year at any of these events? Just check our Calendar Page for times and locations then come on out and help support us as we support others.
